Is Provenance a book tracker?
Yes, and a library catalogue. Log what you're reading, what you've finished and what you own, with covers and editions found for you. Then it does what other trackers don't: it puts each book on a map, a timeline and a night sky.
Can I import my Goodreads library?
Yes, free, forever. Export your Goodreads library as a CSV and bring it in: your shelves, your five-star favourites and your reading dates come with it. And you can export everything back, any time.
How is it different from Goodreads or StoryGraph?
They track what you read. Provenance shows you where your books take you: every book you own on a real world map, a timeline of when each story is set, and a night sky drawn from what they share. Private, and no ads, ever.
How do I install it on an iPhone?
When it's your turn, Provenance installs like an app, straight from the web — no store needed. iPhone doesn't offer a button for that, so it takes three taps in Safari:
- 1Tap Share . On iOS 26, it sits in the ··· menu next to the address bar.
- 2Scroll and tap Add to Home Screen .
- 3Leave Open as Web App on, and tap Add. Provenance opens full screen, like any other app.
Opened this page from Instagram or TikTok? Open it in Safari first: the in-app browser can't add it to your Home Screen.

When it's your turn, Chrome offers to install it. If it doesn't, open the menu (⋮) and tap Install app.
Phone, tablet or computer?
